LJ came in with no fundraising infrastructure — no deck, no model, no data room, no investor experience. Originally from rural India, he taught himself software engineering and relocated to Berlin to build Hamhey. We worked on story, positioning, materials, and investor readiness. In under three months: accepted into Founder University (run by the 1st investor in Uber), 50+ VC meetings across the U.S. and Europe, received a $1M term sheet.

No prior capital raised — basic deck, no data room, no financial model, no U.S. investor relationships. We worked on positioning, materials, investor readiness, and overall raise strategy. GoldCapital introduced Drive Capital (invested $500K) and LAUNCH / Jason Calacanis (invested $750K), both representing their first checks in. The initial $1M target became oversubscribed — and the round size is now being increased to $3M given significant market interest.

ABOUT MAX GOLDBERG

The founder behind GoldCapital

Before advising founders on fundraising, Max lived it himself.

Max is a self-taught software engineer, product & sales leader who exited his first venture at 17; featured in The Wall Street Journal, Inc. Magazine, TechCrunch, and more.

Max was one of the youngest CEOs to ever participate in the Techstars Accelerator and has raised/deployed millions in capital from strategic angels, UHNW family offices, and VCs. In December 2024, Max's first venture-backed startup, HotDrop, was acquired by The Beam.

Experienced leader with a demonstrated track-record of going from 0 to 1, Max has owned a 7-figure P&L, built/recruited amazing teams, and is a passionate storyteller.

That experience — building from nothing, navigating investor conversations, going through a top accelerator, and executing 2 successful exits — is what Max brings to every founder he works with at GoldCapital.

BEFORE YOUR CALL

Three things to take care of right now

1

Come prepared to have an honest conversation

Your first call is with Cam, Director at GoldCapital. He'll want to understand where things actually stand — not the polished pitch version. Helpful things to have in mind: how much you're raising, what your traction looks like today, what investors have said so far, and where the process feels stuck.

2

Accept the calendar invite in your email

Check your inbox for the booking confirmation and click to add the event to your calendar — the call link is inside the invite. If you have a co-founder, forward them the invite now. This call is worth their time too.

3

Join on time, from a quiet professional setting

We keep a limited schedule and we respect your time — please respect ours. Take the call somewhere quiet and distraction-free, not a car, coffee shop, or anywhere you'll be interrupted. Show up ready to have a real conversation.
